About Fr. Okafor Udoka Uchenna JonathanMariæ
Fr. Okafor Udoka Uchenna JonathanMariæ began his journey to the Catholic Priesthood in 2009. That was the year he joined the formation house of the Congregation of the Servants of Charity (Guanellians).
It is a congregation founded by a holy priest before the infamous Vatican 2 council. Needless to say, the storm of Vatican 2 “aggiornamento” swept over it and they too, were modernised according to the mind of Vatican 2. He spent 9 years in this Congregation, during which he questioned some teachings he received, to which no satisfactory response was received. Eventually he came to learn that his questions and doubts were really legitimate. Ultimately, because of these unresolved issues which were as serious as it can be, he would leave the congregation in 2018. He made contact with the Sedes Sapientiæ seminary in the same year; and began his real Catholic seminary formation anew, in 2019 which lasted until 2024. He was ordained a priest on the feast of Epiphany 6th January 2024 by the Most. Rev. Nkamuke Bede.
Currently I reside in Nekede, as chaplain to our chapel and young school.
